Thousands of women joined hands together to form a human chain in order to express their support and unity for the women in Kerala. This was to support the “Women’s Wall” in Kerala. Female activists of gender equality from various organizations came together to form approximately one-kilometer long human chain which started from Dadar Chowpatty to the Shivaji Park.

In Kerala, lakhs of women had gathered on Tuesday to build a 620 km- long human chain from the north, Kasargod to the south, Thiruvananthapuram. This human chain was called the “women’s wall” in order to send the message of gender quality and spread awareness about the cause.

Sonya Gill who is a member of the committee that organized the chain said that woman from all over Mumbai such as Navi Mumbai as well as the district of Thane came together to stand for unity and in support for what their sisters have been doing in Kerala and for gender equality. She also said that we are no more following the old traditions and values where women were given respect in all fields. Women in New Delhi also formed a human chain outside Kerala House near Jantar Mantar in support to their women in Kerala who are taken steps for gender equality.
