Authorities in east Texas have jailed an 18-year-old teen for killing his parents and two siblings. Cesar Olalde told police “he had killed his family because they were cannibals, and they were going to eat him”.

An 18-year-old teen in Texas was arrested for killing his own family “because they were cannibals” and “they were going to eat him”, cops said. Cesar Olalde has been accused of the grisly murders of his parents and two siblings, including a five-year-old brother, The New York Post reported.

According to police, officers received information about a man harming his family and threatening to kill himself on Tuesday. They found Cesar Olalde barricaded inside a home and were told that multiple people were dead inside, reported news agency AP. The suspect was then taken into custody by the cops.

Olalde later called police, saying “he had pulled the trigger, and shot his family,” according to a probable cause affidavit by Nash Police Officer Craig Buster. The officers persuaded Olalde to surrender.

Later, the bodies of his parents, Reuben Olalde and Aida Garcia, older sister Lisbet Olalde and younger brother Oliver Olalde were recovered in a bathroom.

“It appeared as if the victims had been shot at various places in the residence and drug to the bathroom,” according to the affidavit. “Multiple spent cartridge casings” were found on the floor of the home, and there was “blood spatter on multiple surfaces,” it said.

A co-worker of Lisbet Olalde told police that he went to her home when she failed to show up to work and he was confronted by the suspect who pointed a gun at him. The suspect is being held on a $10m bond, according to Bowie County court records.

Neighbour Robert Ward described the victims as a “beautiful family” made up of “extremely nice” and “hardworking people.”
