The Mumbai Indians concluded their IPL 2024 journey at the bottom of the points table, with only 4 wins out of 10 matches. This season notably marked Hardik Pandya’s captaincy takeover from Rohit Sharma, a decision that sparked continuous discussion throughout the campaign.
As the Mumbai Indians squad assembled for their final gathering of the season, owner Nita Ambani openly acknowledged the team’s disappointment. In a video shared on social media, she expressed her dual role as both owner and fan.
“It’s been a disappointing season for all of us. Things didn’t go as planned, but my allegiance to the Mumbai Indians remains unwavering. Wearing the Mumbai Indians jersey is a privilege, and being associated with the team is an honor. We’ll review and learn from this,” Ambani stated.
Ambani also extended her support to the Indian quartet—Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah—as they prepare for the T20 World Cup 2024.
“To Rohit, Hardik, Surya, and Bumrah, the entire nation is behind you. We wish you the best,” she added.
The Indian team’s T20 World Cup 2024 journey kicks off on June 5, with the first match against Ireland. Ahead of the tournament, India will face Bangladesh in a warm-up match on June 1.
