Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at Chief Justice DY Chandrachud’s home today. The festival, which marks the arrival of Lord Ganesha, saw a special participation from PM Modi.
In a video shared online, Chief Justice Chandrachud and his wife warmly welcomed PM Modi to their residence. The Prime Minister, wearing a traditional Maharashtrian cap, performed aarti and offered prayers before the Lord Ganesha idol alongside the Chief Justice and his wife.
PM Modi also shared a glimpse of the celebration on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), captioning, “Joined Ganesh Puja at the residence of CJI, Justice DY Chandrachud Ji. May Bhagwan Shri Ganesh bless us all with happiness, prosperity and wonderful health.”
The grand Ganesh Chaturthi festivities have kicked off across India, with celebrations reaching a peak on this auspicious day. The ten-day festival will continue until September 17, culminating in the immersion of Lord Ganesha idols.
Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Ganeshotsav or Vinayaka Chaturthi, is celebrated with great enthusiasm, especially in Maharashtra. On the fifth day of the festival alone, over 2,500 Ganesh idols were immersed in Mumbai, according to officials.
The festival is a significant cultural event, bringing together people from various walks of life to celebrate and honor Lord Ganesha. The ceremonies and rituals performed during this time are steeped in tradition and devotion.
