Man Arrested for Burning Wife to Death Over Cheating Suspicion

In a shocking case from Uran, Navi Mumbai, a man has been arrested for allegedly setting his 32-year-old wife on fire over suspicions of an extra-marital affair. The accused, Rajkumar Sahu (35), initially attempted to mislead authorities by claiming that his wife, Jagrani, had locked herself in a room and committed suicide, leading to an accidental death report being filed.

However, the investigation took a decisive turn following the testimony of their seven-year-old daughter, who witnessed the horrific incident and told police that her father had deliberately set her mother on fire.

According to the Uran police, the incident occurred in the early hours of August 25 at Pagotegaon. The accused was arrested the following day after the police discovered discrepancies in his account of events. Officers confirmed that the motive behind the crime was the husband’s suspicion of his wife’s alleged extramarital relationship.

The case underscores the critical role of prompt police investigation and witness testimony in uncovering domestic crimes and ensuring justice for victims.
