I understand where you are coming from through my own interactions with Sri Sri , i have realized that he doesnt make an attempt to convince people.
He has a very passive style. full of peace and radiance. It cannot be explained in words. Although i would say that during one of my recent visits to his ashram where lawyers from all over india has gathered for a lawyers conference, they posed all kinds of questions to him (about issues in different states of india) and he was so charged and took control of the stage. (i guess becuase the situaton warranted for it.)
From all the events i have attended personally, i think he tries to not be outspoken is because he radiates peace through his presence. you see it and you feel it when you experience it. (i do find his voice to be thin but thats just a biological attribute.)
i also dont find gandhi ji a very eloqeunt speaker (compare that with nehru or vallabhbhai patel). But we all know what Gandhi did for the world. thats becuase he stood for something. not just in theory but also in practice.
I was thrilled to find out that sri sri has also been involved in various peaces processes ACROSS THE WORLD. So it carries a lot of weight when someone says “i want to put a smile on every face” becuase he has actually been working towards that (and not just focusing on increasing followers.)
