Sambhaji Maharaj’s birth anniversary (Sambhaji Maharaj Birthday): Today, on 14th May, is the birth anniversary of Sambhaji Maharaj, the second ruler of the Maratha Empire. Every year on this day, Sambhaji Maharaj Jayanti is celebrated all over Maharashtra and other parts of the country.
Sambhaji Bhosle, the eldest son of Shivaji Maharaj, became the second ruler of the Maratha Empire after the death of his father. Sambhaji Bhosale was born on May 14, 1657. Sambhaji Bhosale was the first child of Shivaji and his wife Saibai, the second leader of the Maratha Empire.
Sambhaji Bhosale lost his mother at the age of 2 and was brought up by his brother-in-law. Jijabai taught Sambhaji Bhosale those values and values which gave him spiritual strength and which were always promoted by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Sambhaji led the Maratha army for the first time in the victorious campaign against the Maratha possession of Kolwan in 1672 along with Peshwa Moropant Pingale.
Every year on 14 May people celebrate Sambhaji Maharaj Jayanti as a tribute to his contribution to the Maratha rule. Sambhaji’s journey to the throne was also full of challenges, but he ruled for 9 years.
