Pixxel Lands NASA Contract for Earth-Observation Data

Indian private spacecraft company Pixxel has secured a significant contract with NASA, joining a select group of firms tasked with providing Earth-observation data. This opportunity comes as part of NASA’s USD 476 million “Commercial SmallSat Data Acquisition Programme On-Ramp1 Multiple Award.”

Fireflies Satellites

Pixxel plans to launch its Fireflies satellites, which will offer unprecedented hyperspectral imaging with a five-metre resolution. These satellites will provide extensive coverage with a 40-km swath width and a 24-hour revisit frequency, capturing data from over 250 spectral bands.
