Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Mumbai today for the India Maritime Week (IMW) 2025 at the NESCO Exhibition Centre. He will address the Maritime Leaders Conclave and chair the Global Maritime CEO Forum, key events that promote sustainable growth in India’s maritime sector.

Focus on Maritime Innovation and Blue Economy

The conclave brings together global maritime leaders, policymakers, and experts. Discussions will center on green shipping, digital innovation, and resilient supply chains.
PM Modi’s address will highlight India’s commitment to a clean and inclusive blue economy and its leadership in sustainable maritime development.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the India Maritime Week on Monday. The event’s agenda includes sessions on environment-friendly ports, coastal infrastructure, and community-led development.

Traffic Restrictions in Mumbai

The Mumbai Traffic Police has issued an advisory for travelers.
From 2 PM to 9 PM today, Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) are not allowed on both sides of the Western Express Highway (WEH) — from Vakola Flyover to Dahisar Toll Naka.
Authorities urge commuters to plan ahead and use alternate routes to avoid congestion and ensure safe movement for VVIP convoys.

Weather Alert: Rains to Continue

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) extended the yellow alert for Mumbai until 8:30 AM on Thursday (October 30).
The city is expected to see thunderstorms, lightning, and moderate rain.
Alerts are also in place for Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg.
In Palghar, the warning continues until Friday morning (October 31).
