A YouTuber, Mahi Khan (MahiNergy), was threatened by a co-passenger for not speaking Marathi on Air India flight AI676 from Kolkata to Mumbai. The woman allegedly told him, “Speak Marathi or leave Mumbai.”
Khan called the cabin crew when the argument escalated. The woman reportedly threatened, “Get down at Mumbai, I’ll show you what badtameezi is.”
The viral video has sparked debate over linguistic intolerance in Maharashtra. Social media users tagged Hyundai, as the woman wore a Hyundai-logo shirt, demanding accountability.
Many condemned the act, calling it against Maharashtrian culture. Neither Air India nor Hyundai has responded.
This incident follows past Maharashtra cases, including disputes on trains and attacks over refusing to speak Marathi.
