Mumbai Weather Updates: AQI Raises Health Concerns as IMD Predicts Clear Skies

The Mumbai weather updates this week highlight rising pollution levels and warmer temperatures across the city. Mumbai’s Air Quality Index (AQI) climbed significantly, raising health concerns for residents as smog continued to cover several parts of the city.

AQI Nears 200 as Mumbai Wakes Up to Smog

According to the Sameer App, the AQI late Wednesday reached 198, while Thursday morning showed a reading of 182, placing the city in the moderate category.
People once again woke up to smoggy Mumbai weather, showing how rapidly air quality has deteriorated over recent days.

Despite rising pollution levels, Mumbai temperatures have remained steady for a week. The city continues to feel warmer than usual for this season.

IMD Forecast: Clear Skies but Warm Conditions

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts clear skies for Mumbai on Thursday.

  • Maximum temperature: 34°C
  • Minimum temperature: 23°C

Local IMD observations show:

  • Colaba: Minimum temperature 23.9°C
  • Santacruz: Minimum temperature 22°C

Both readings are higher compared to last week, showing a warming trend in Mumbai weather conditions.

Maharashtra Weather: Winter Sets In Elsewhere

While Mumbai remains warm, several regions across Maharashtra continue to feel winter temperatures:

  • Ratnagiri: Minimum 21.5°C, humidity 65%
  • Pune: Minimum 14.6°C, humidity 80%
  • Dahanu: Minimum 21.2°C, humidity 90%
  • Mahabaleshwar: Coolest at 14.1°C

These regions recorded sharper temperature drops, unlike the stable and warm Mumbai weather pattern.

Mumbai AQI: A Growing Public Health Concern

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) reported that Mumbai’s 24-hour AQI remained in the moderate category, nearing the 200 mark.
Thursday morning’s AQI reading of 182 is one of the worst this year.

Experts warn that the current Mumbai AQI levels could trigger adverse health effects, especially among sensitive groups such as children, senior citizens and people with respiratory issues.

As pollution levels are expected to rise further in the coming days, residents are advised to monitor Mumbai weather updates, limit outdoor exposure, and take necessary precautions.
