Ranchi, August 17 – A man was arrested by police in Ranchi after allegedly attempting to infiltrate a Janmashtami celebration while disguised in a burqa. The cultural event, held in the presence of the Governor along with senior officials from the Ranchi administration and police, witnessed heightened security due to the incident.
According to officials, the man tried to blend in with the crowd during the celebrations. His presence was first flagged by attendee Nusrat Parveen, who noticed suspicious behavior when she stepped out to purchase medicines during the programme. Acting swiftly on her complaint, security personnel detained the accused and handed him over to the police.
Authorities have confirmed that the man is under interrogation and further investigation is underway to determine his motive behind gatecrashing the event. Police have assured that security measures at public functions will be further tightened to avoid any such breaches in the future.
The incident has raised questions about security checks at large cultural gatherings, especially when attended by top constitutional authorities.
