Ukraine’s Air Force successfully shot down 27 of the 44 Shahed-131 and Shahed-136 drones launched by Russia overnight. The update was shared on Friday via Telegram.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, eight of the drones vanished from radar, while one was directed towards Russia-held areas in the Donetsk region.
Several drones continued to remain in Ukrainian airspace as of Friday morning, indicating ongoing threats.
In addition to the drone attacks, Russia also fired Kh-59 guided missiles and Kh-31P anti-radiation missiles at various Ukrainian targets. The attacks resulted in significant casualties and damage.
In Pavlograd, located in the central Dnipropetrovsk region, one person was killed and 30 others injured due to these missile strikes, according to regional governor Sergii Lysak.
The Kyiv region activated its air defenses, but there were no reported casualties or damage to critical infrastructure or residential areas.
In the northeastern region of Kharkiv, a missile strike damaged residential buildings and injured three people in Liubotyn on Friday morning. The local Air Force managed to intercept five drones and one missile in the region.
Throughout various attacks overnight, more than 12 homes were damaged, and power lines and gas pipelines were impacted, with two people injured.
In Lviv, debris from a downed drone fell in an industrial area, igniting four trucks. Firefighters, totaling 32 in number, extinguished the fire by Friday morning, with no injuries reported.
Additionally, a fire caused by drone debris was contained in the southern Mykolaiv region. The Ukrainian Air Force successfully intercepted seven drones in this area, as reported by the regional governor.
